PS5, PS5 Digital Edition Price and Release Date Announced

Sony has revealed the price and availability details of its upcoming PlayStation 5 console. It will be available in two versions - one with the disc drive and a Digital Edition without the disc drive.

Both the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will launch on November 12 in select markets like Korea, Mexico, Australia, US, Canada, Japan, and New Zealand and on November 19 globally (except China).

The PS5 costs $499.99 (roughly Rs 36,800) in the US, £449.99 (roughly Rs 43,000) in the UK, €499.99 (roughly Rs 43,500) in Europe, AU$749.95 (roughly Rs 40,300) in Australia, and ¥49,980 (roughly Rs 35,000) in Japan for the standard version with disc drive.

The PS5 Digital Edition is priced at $399.99 (roughly Rs 29,500) in the US, £359.99 (roughly Rs 34,400) in the UK, €399.99 (roughly Rs 34,800) in Europe, AU$599.95 (roughly Rs 32,300) in Australia, and ¥39,980 (roughly Rs 28,000) in Japan.

Unfortunately, the company hasn't yet disclosed its India pricing, but it is likely to fall in the same line.

Besides launch date and prices, Sony also announced a new feature called PlayStation Plus Collection for its subscription service. This will allow subscribers to play an array of PS4 games on the PS5 including Until Dawn, Uncharted 4, Battlefield 1, Fallout 4, Final Fantasy XV, The Last Guardian, Ratchet & Clank, Infamous Second Son, Bloodborne, God of War, Days Gone, The Last of Us Remastered, Monster Hunter World, Detroit Become Human, Batman Arkham Knight, Mortal Kombat X, Persona 5, and Resident Evil Biohazard.
