Samsung already launched its Odyssey G7 gaming monitor earlier this month. Now, less than a month later Samsung has globally launched its next-generation Odyssey G9 gaming monitor. The Samsung Odyssey G9 gaming monitor was showcased beside the Odyssey G7 monitor at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 in January this year.
The Odyssey G9 gaming monitor arrives with a futuristic design with a glossy white exterior and a 1000R curved display. On the specs aspect, it arrives with a huge 49-inch QLED curved display with a resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 32:9. Samsung announces that Odyssey G9 is the first Dual Quad High-Definition gaming monitor in the world. It comes with a refresh rate of 240Hz, a response time of just 1ms, and a maximum brightness of 1000cd/m-square.
On the gaming aspect, it gives G-SYNC compatible and FreeSync Premium Pro functionality and it provides a total of seven gaming modes, which include Custom, FPS, RTS, AOS, RPG, Cinema and DCR. The Odyssey G9 also supports HRD10+ quality content, which allows it to deliver high-quality games and content. The newly launched monitor gives this experience by using the Quantum dot technology in tandem with the HDR1000 panel. To connectivity, Samsung’s Odyssey G9 gaming laptop has a 1.4(2 EA) display port, an HDMI 2.0(1EA) port, a USB3.0(1UP, 2DOWN) port, and a headphone jack.
Samsung hasn’t stated the price and availability of the Odyssey G9 gaming laptop yet. But the company has announced that it will be available in the global markets starting June 2020.
