Windows 10 Insider preview latest update brings new Start menu, calculator feature and more

Microsoft is gently working to deliver a new set of features for Windows 10 and has newly started rolling out the latest update for Windows 10 Insider Preview Dev channel that brings a new redesigned Start Menu with transparent background, improved Calculator, new Edge browser feature, and more.

The newly redesigned Start Menu in Windows 10 Insider Preview update delivers a cleaner look and feel. The Start Menu has got a new transparent treatment that makes it consistent with the overall transparent theme of the operating system. Aside from this, the Start Menu no longer uses the solid color background behind the software and app logo. Also, the new theme works with both Windows 10’s light and dark theme.

Another notable feature is the updated Microsoft Edge that now displays all the tab in all window options that appear by pressing Alt+Tab buttons together. Microsoft has also changed the default mode for 2-in-1 devices where the tablet mode automatically gets activated when a user detaches the keyboard or folds the keyboard in laptops with 360-degree hinge design. The next feature is the Calculator app that has been updated with graphing mode making things easier for students.

Those unaware, Microsoft has also replaced the Insider Rings with something called Channels. The new Channels are targeted towards a specific category of testers, as they can now decide which Channel of the Insider Preview they want to join.
